History

From 1955 to 1960, Costa Rica experienced a boom in the construction of routes and roads, which caused the economic and the population development. Economy was based on agriculture and cattle raising and that was the reason why it was necessary to reach every place in the country with appropriate ways of communication. Equally, the inhabitants and local governments made great effort to open new ways. Sanchez Carvajal saw in that necessity the opportunity to contribute with the development. They started with craft tools in the initial construction of sewer systems, they later moved on to the opening of trails and, subsequently started with big works.

Established as Constructora Sanchez Carvajal S.A., the construction company opened its doors on July 13th, 1961. Nowadays, Sanchez Carvajal is consolidated with increasingly important and complex projects, which has allowed them to work in more diverse construction areas and that, due to their characteristics, have benefited the company with a considerable growth, with high technology equipment, professionals that are constantly developing and a construction system focused on quality.

Their main offices are strategically located in San Jose, Costa Rica and they have shops specialized in the preventive and corrective maintenance of the machinery.
